Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 04 November 2009 This query is : Resolved
Lord Krishna had two wives,Raja Dashratha had four wives, bigamy was a tradition among Hindus. Why it is prohibited in democratic India?
bhupender sharma (Expert) 04 November 2009
Mr. at that time the ratio of the girl were very high and no such scientific methods of M.T.P. were available and that period was of kings realm and not the democracy where the govt. is formed by the people for the people and of the people.More so they had the resourses to maintain the same here in contemporary period one wife is hardly being maintained. Sorry I think not a very good quarry.
Now-a-days number of divorce cases are increasing in the court and you are saying for bigamy. Where the couples could not maintain their single marital life, it is really tough to have another wife.
So far it is a question of woman's rights because they are not a property.
Kiran Kumar (Expert) 04 November 2009
dear u could ve confined ur thoughts to Karunanidhi and Dharmendar only why dragged our mythological heros.

its tough to manage one wife and u need 4?

in some cases few have not been able to get a single one....already shortage man!

otherwise totally absurd thought and absurd querry too.

a female is not a material thing, female are human beings....would u like u c your wife with four or more husbands?

How such heinous questions are being allowed to be raised in this quarry? Mr. anonymous you have not disclosed your name otherwise I would have served a legal notice defaming the sentiments of Hindus by uttering the words bigamy for Lord Krishna and King Dasharatha. You have committed an offense and I pray all experts to boycott such person and such below standard questions and raise a strong objection against the language used by him.
Suhail suhail (Expert) 04 November 2009

Anish goyal (Expert) 04 November 2009
I don't believe in God but the question looks strange to me to by thinks such kind of person still exists in our flexible and progressive hindu society who think women as a material thing.
A V Vishal (Expert) 04 November 2009
In my opinion they were gods and we are humans, so it is declared illegal in democratic India.
A V Vishal (Expert) 04 November 2009
Why are some of the experts wild at the querist, If some one has a doubt it is our duty to clear it, some asking to file defamation suit while others seeking to ban such queries is not the right way try to lead men from ignorance to knowledge. There is nothing wrong in the query what is wrong is the way we think
Shivasurya (Expert) 05 November 2009
I agreed the learned experts except Mr. AV Vishal, Dear learned experts just ignore such type of queries, then only such queries will not be raised in future
neeraj (Expert) 06 November 2009
