(Querist) 29 February 2012 This query is : Resolved
can i use the national emblems or the words like satyamev jayate on my vehicle if no then who can use that
Guest (Expert) 29 February 2012
NO, as per section 3 of the State Emblem of India (Prohibition of Improper Use) Act, 2005, you cannot use National Emblem. Misuse of the emblem by any person in violation of section 3 attracts a punishment of imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees, or with both.

About "Satyameva Jayate" (सत्यमेव जयते) which means "Truth Alone Triumphs") is a Hindu mantra from the ancient scripture Mundaka Upanishad. Upon independence of India, it was adopted as the national motto of India.

Since it is merely a motto for the India and had been adopted from the Mundaka Upnishad, in my opinion it can be used by any one. So far I have not found any such Act of the Pariament that could ban adoption of such a word by any one.
