Whether immovable property can be attached in a criminal case

(Querist) 15 October 2012 This query is : Resolved
MY INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY OWNER HAS CAUSED CHEATING OF SEVERE NATURE RESULTING IN HUGE FINANCIAL LOSSES TO THE EXTENT OF AROUND 1.50 CRORES. WHETHER I CAN SEEK ATTACHMENT OF IMMOVABLE PROPERTY IN A CASE UNDER Sec.420 of IPC besides other relevant sections. If so under which provision of Cr.P.C. I can seek attachment. Kindly advise.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 15 October 2012
Due to continued absence of the accused person in a criminal case pending against him if he is declared as Proclaimed Absconder then his immoveable asset can be attached and sale.
