Vecant land tax

sir ,
i own small house in nearly 300 sq yards in guntur ap. the property was acuired by our grandfather nearly 60 years back. the property is inherited to me through regesterd will. there are two small portions of tailed house in the land. we have been paying electrical bill,municipal tax, drainage tax,and
water tax for past 40 years. now the municipal revenue dept started demanding vecant land tax on balance portion of the house site. ie nearly 200 sqyards left over arround the house. we are staying in the house. pl advice. bhaskar rao

Dear Bhaskar Rao,

You have to pay the tax even for vacant land. The Municipal revenue dept is right in demanding the tax for vacant land. After the assessment of tax pay the tax and if you aggrieved by the assessment of tax, you have the right to appeal.
