Using information from the internet for a listing site

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 30 June 2012 This query is : Resolved
I am making a free listing website for restaurants in Bangalore. As such I am asking for information from these restaurants where I will be posting details such as address, contact number, restaurant pictures etc. on my website, for no charge (free). Some of these restaurants haven't replied to my queries. Can I directly obtain information from the Internet regarding the same and post it on my website? Can there be any legal consequences for this?

Yes u can get it from anywhere. But u can post it with the consent only. Already there is a case-law.

you are giving free publicity to these resturants . offering public details of resturants , contact details in bangalore .

the resturnats should be happy with the free publicity . they are in hospitality buisness . more people know about these resturants more buisness they get .

send a letter to resturnat that in case you dont hear from them within period of 14 days from date of recipt of this letter it would be deemed they have given consent and have no objection to the listing
