What should one do if she is being threatened by her brother( married and living separately) when the threat is to commit suicide if the former does not transfer her immovable property in the name of the latter.
If she seeks to complain to the police, mere complaint will be sufficient or should there be some material basis for such allegation?

If what you say are facts, then make a complaint to the Police in a simple and straight forward manner, there need not be any other material basis - except the true statement of facts as what the person said/threatened to do.

Your brither's attempts tant amount to cheating and to exert undue force on you to obtain transfer of your property. In order to prevent him from harassing you you should file a complaint with the police and as a practical approach also inform your parents and other relatives to intervene in the matter.
