Starting up a new business

Hello,

I am currently an employeed, but planning to start my own business.

I am having an idea to start a hotel type of business (Chat shop). Can you tell me if there are any rules applicable to this.
Is Registration necessary for this?
What are the different documents required to start up such business?
If I have to get the details in person where in chennai should I go and get these informations?

Local rules and regulations regulate this business. You will need a registration for shop and establishment and take some registration withe local municipal authorities for food joints.

Adding to Mr Rajesh Kumar advice, if you are opening the food joint apart from registration unders hops and commercial establishment act, you are also required to get license under Prevention of Food Adultration Act,1954 Which I is replaced by Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
