Hello Lawyers,
I am Advocate Anamika Dubey. I am presently in Pune. I am having 1 year practice experience and i want to join a solicitor as i am highly interestd in that category. But i dont have any idea how to go for it and where to start from? Could you please help me with this and also i need information that can i apply now.

Dear Ms.Anamika,
You may personally contact any local Solicitor firm at Pune if you intends to join a local firm. Or else you may contact any Solicitor firm operating from the place of your choice. There are several solicitor firms in Mumbai which is nearer to you. You may get details from your local Bar also.

The Bombay Incorporated Law Society continues to conduct an examination for those who want to qualify as solicitors. The examination is very difficult. No one can style himself as a solicitor unless he has passed this examination and been admitted to the Law Society as a solicitor.

Hi. In order to become a Solicitor you have to first and foremost join a Solicitor and sign Articles with the Solicitor, for a period of 3 years. At the completion of 3 years you have to give the Solicitors exams. Most of the study material will be avaliabe from the Bar Association. You need to be very good in not only the Acts, but also the latest judgments and citations.
I advice you to contact a known Solicitor's firm and sign in your Articleship.
