from all the respected members, i just want to know that whether prior to independence criminal cases were versus emperor but later after independence it was versus state. Because all the citations before independence shows the parties name like. ..............Vs Emperor. What is the secret behind it.

Some times i am coming through a word, "Criminal manual 1980". is it the criminal major act, which contains IPC, CRPC and Evidence
