Signature on FIR

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 18 December 2010 This query is : Resolved
Signature on FIR has been denied by the complainant and no evidence has been led by prosecution to establish the signature. Can FIR be relied upon ? or is it liable to be ignored?
SAANJAAY GUPTAA (Expert) 19 December 2010
If the signature of the complainant denied by himself on the complaint lodge by him, case got weaken, accused will definetly get benefit of doubt.
s.subramanian (Expert) 19 December 2010
Such a denial will definitely affect the truth and veracity of the FIR which will help the accused in a big way.
Advocate. Arunagiri (Expert) 19 December 2010
The complainant need not sign on the FIR. As long as he is not denying his signature in the original complaint, the FIR is reliable.
