Rented house

(Querist) 05 March 2014 This query is : Resolved
Hi,
I have a query, if a tenant stays in a house, paying rent continuously for 9 years or more, do they have legal claim become the owners of that house ? Please advice. Where can i find more information on this ?
If this is true, how do we avoid getting into such a situation where the tenant makes claim to the property ?

tenant is always a tenant . he cannot be a owner of property just because he is paying rent . keep changing the licensee every 3 years . enter into registered leave and license agreement

Tenant can not become owner even after tenancy of long period. Act upon the advise of expert ajay sethi ji.
