Rental house

I'm in Tamilnadu, Stayed in a rental home, but here all are raising the rent abnormally,
Say as an example one built a home with 7 individual houses like apartment, so getting 40,000 per month in return named rental,
so I have doubt? Is there any taxation is liable to the house owners for this income, since they're liable for property tax .
how they can use the domestic building to commercial one?
Is there any rules for rental fixation and hiking the rental ?
Please anyone explain me about this?

If you think that the rent charged from you is exorbitant then you certainly can apply for determination of fair rent in the local civil court.

ok Sir, What about the tax for this much rental they received for one month

Why are you so concerned about tax?
Whether they pay or not is not going to help reducing the rent.

no i have doubt in that, i dont bother about rent, i need to know whether they're liable for any tax for this or not?
