Registration of gift deed - procedure in bangalore

Hi,

When a gift deed is registered Does the person who gets the property need to be present and is his/her signature required?

the acceptance of gift deed by donee is necessary . donor and donee signatures are affixed in presence of both witnesses . registration is necessary

If the donee is not present can a power of attorney be given to a third party and can they accept the gift deed on the donees behalf ?
