Registration of Birth

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I have query, If a child is bron in a village and a perents slips to register the birth and the person wants to register it now (age of the child is 11 yrs) how he/she has to proceed, please let me know.

What is the procedure in your village I am not aware but normally in village when a birth/death take place, the Gram Pradhan registers the same in the Parivar Register maintained by him. The record maintained by him has evidenciary value.

Normally in our Municipality the birth will be automatically registered because the hospital where the delivery is made informed the registrar of births in the municipality

It can be registered by the order of the magistrate of your jurisdiction.

The school were the child was first admited will have the record of birth and a certioficate can be obtained from it, then on the basis of that , you can persuade the Village panchyath to issue a proper birth sertificate.

You have to mention the name of state you reside so that proper reply can be given

First you obtain a certificate form the doctor about the birth of child. You made an application before the village level officer. Along with your application parents of the child shall submit notarized affidavit regarding birth of the child. Village officer refers it to his officials. They will order to register the birth in Panchayath records. Than the village level officer will issue the birth certificate.
