Every High Court has their own procedure of writ petition.
However, in a writ petition there should be facts of the case, grounds and nature of prayer i.e. certiorari, mandamus etc.

ESTHERPRIYA (Expert) 19 April 2009
The procedure is Writ Petition along with stay petition is filed. The court will order for counter and if fit grants interim stay without counter too. Then the counter will be filed. Last the writ petition will be heard at Final hearing stage. In case the matter has to be listed or heard earlier, then Early Hearing Petition need to be filed.
