Quashing of a fir

(Querist) 21 December 2018 This query is : Resolved
At what stages a FIR instructed from court can be quashed. Can it be quashed in High Court or Supreme court at the stage after submission of Final Report of Police in the court clearing all the accused.
Guest (Expert) 21 December 2018
Quashing of FIR is possible in Sessions Court and the courts above it.

Final Report implies that there isn't enough material on offer for the jurisdictional magistrate to take cognisance of the matter!
Dr J C Vashista (Expert) 23 December 2018
1. Sessions Court has no power to quash a FIR as suggested by expert Mr. Jahangir.
2. At any stage of the case petition for quashing FIR can be filed/ entertained / allowed by High Court, however, Supreme Court shall not admit such petition.
3. What is your locus standie to the query ?
