I had filed a Domestic Violence case against my husband in which I produced the xerox copies of photos of the illicit sex of my husband with another lady as evidence. Now that lady has filed a complaint of defamation against me and the Police are asking me to give them the originals of the photographs. Can the Police take action against me if I fail to do so.

Mere absence of original copy doe snot make you guilty if the offence is indeed committed.
Ask the police to unearth the truth first on the basis of the photos.

Where are the originals. If available with you, hand over to police on acknowledgement.

Actually I copied the photos from my husband's computer thus I have only the CD copy from which I took printouts and produced in the Court. The question is can the cops compel me for the originals of documents which are produced in the Court as evidence.

you inform the cops that photos were copied from husband computer . they can seize your husband computer if they so desire to obtain the originals
