Sir I have given technical resignation from my previous service in Border Roads Organisation (Min of Defence) which is a Central Govt department. I was working as Junior Engineer in Grade Pay of Rs. 4200/- (Scale 9300-34800) and my pay at the time of Technical resignation was Rs. 46200/-. Now i have joined Indian Railways in Northeast Frontier Railway as Sr Section Engineer in grade pay of Rs. 4600/-. As per 7 th pay commission they are giving the pay of Rs. 44900/- which is less than which i was drawing in my previous service. When i asked for the higher pay railway authorities are saying that as per 7 th pay commission rules i shall be given the initial pay of the Scale of Sr Section Engineer (Scale 9300-34800). Please help by giving any documentation proof of govt rules or circular to all departments

You are entitled for service continuity on technical resignation and the pay protection depends upon the service rules in the new service.

If you have forwarded through proper channel and advt. issued provides for pay protection you can. It is understood railways are treating you as a direct recruit which you can verify, clarify with concerned Head of the Establishment section for right guidance as per rules.
