Mr. Goswami! As you have written parent means a body who has given birth to child and in the context of organizations the same set of words is used. The terms and conditions put forth in the constitution of the parent organization are the sole determining point of life of child, rights and liabilities of both concerns and their mutual organizations. Legally parent organization is liable for all he acts and omissions of the child organization,

Actually the question stroked me after reading the MOA of a society. There was not a single word about its parent organization. There was not the term "Parent organization" at all.

The society is registered under WB Society Reg. Act and it has a 12 member board in which, the representative of parent org also exists.

As I saw, during last one year, the parent organization is trying to forget the existence of the mentioned society. They broke all contact with other members, and not attended any meeting. They never said that they want to stop / close this child org., but they created such situation that either the society have to act independently or suspend all activities.
