Normally mode of serving a notice for calling Board Meeting is not prescribed.
In case of dispute between two Directors (A and B) A alleges that no Notice was served on him informing of Board Meetings. B can not prove that the same was served as it was an oral notice infact.

B can take the plea that the notice was pasted on the notice board of company and outside the room of director especially where A has sitting.

Sir though the mode of serving the notice is not clear in the Compoanies Act but section 286 of the same has made it quite clear that the notice of every Board Meeting shall be given in writing to every director for the time being in india and at his usual address. Think it is clear now.
