Noc for sale of flat

Is it compulsory to take NOC from society before sale of flat to members.
and if NO NOC taken from society and sale the flat. Can society has legal power to refuse for transfer of Flat only on ground of NOC not taken from society before sale of flat.

no NOC is not mandatory . society cannot refuse to transfer on grounds no NOc takenm before sale of flat
