Does a muslim priest giving marriage certificate is valid in Maharashtra.If not registered will the marriage called as VALID MARRIAGE.

the marriage will be valid even if it is not registered and nikah nama is not the certificate as per the law. since even without it the marriage is valid.

Nikahnama is not a valid certificate. The marriage id to be proved by witnesses/evidence that all religious formalities required by personal law governing the parties were completed. Nikahnama may be a corroborating evidence

Nikahnama can be valid as a primary evidence of marriage, but for many government departmental procedures you shall required to produce the registration certificate issued by the registrar of the marriages.
