Money not refunded by meal card.

Hi,

In my company we have the option to take the food coupon/Meal Card as a part of salary.

Every month a certain amount of money is credited to the meal card and we can use it to take food in the office cafeteria by swiping in the machine (just like a Bank Debit card).

In the year 2007 the vendor was changed from company 'X' to a bank so whoever had money left in the 'X' meal card were assured that they would receive the money in salary post tax.

I didn't get the money.I have amount some near to Rs 4000/-.

I raised this issue with my company and then repeated follow they asked my Meal card assured that they would take this matter to Company 'X' but nothing has happened till now.

What shall I do now ?

Please guide me.

Can I file a case in consumer court ?

Dear Prabhat

Send a legal notice to X company and your company to recovery of your mealy card amount due otherwise i will take the action from appropriate Law.

whether the said assurance was given in writing? if so then you can sent a legal notice to the x company as well as your company alongwith the copy of the said assurance. and according to my knowledge this facility is provide by and on behalf your company and you have not availed a facility as customer. you can file a suit for recovery of money but you may not suceed in as consumer before the court.

Hi,

If I file a suit for the recovery of my money then what about the expenses incurred in the case like court fees and lawyer fees?

Will I get compensation so that I can handle these expenses ?

First issue legal notice to X company. If they failed to refund your amount.File a complaint at concerned consumer forum.
