Me not issuing rent receipts-- -a crime or not ?

I have given a property of mine on rent since last three years,neither my tenant asked for a rent receipt ever nor I issued any myself.
Is it a crime on my part, not issuing the rent receipt to my tenant???
What if,he stops giving rent,would I be able to file case for non payment of rent, against him ??

NO its not a crime.
if he stops paying you rent then you can seek his eviction from the premises on the ground of non payment of rent.
if such situation occurs then consult some local lawyer who will advice you as per the rent laws applicable to your area.

Yes not giving rent reciept is criminal offense.
The best way is to get confirmation on current date that he has recieved all reciepts or he does not have dispute about rent account.
Please be wise, rent control act is in favour of tanents in all states and even all over world.

It is better to get the rent proceeds remitted by the tenant in your bank account directly which would construe as a valid receipt. However, this must be supported by the terms and conditions imposed in a valid Rental agreement.

yer, it is no offence but in state of M.P. some panelty provision are given in the M.P.Accommodation Act,1961.
