(Querist) 03 February 2010 This query is : Resolved
Recently I have completed my LLB from Mumbai University. I am doing LLM in Mumbai University. I am also working with in a Government Office. My question is what are the carrer options for me. Presently I do not want to leave my job as my family is dependent on my earnings. Can I appear as a lawyer for any person in my family in the court. What are the other options for me.

Working in a organization is a bar for you to practice as a lawyer as per the rules of the bar council of india/advocates act.
Either you should practice law or work in a organization (private/govt). You can do both the things together.

Secondly as regards your career, since you say that you do not want to leave the job, you can apply for the govt jobs in the same department for higher post or in other govt departments under the preferential criteria that you are a presently working under the government.
