I want to know the limitations period in case of section 354, 353(B), and 376 attempt to rape.
Quick Summary
This discussion addresses the limitation periods for criminal offences, specifically referencing Sections 354, 353B, and 376 (attempted rape). The general limitation periods suggested are six months for fine-only offences, one year for imprisonment up to one year, and three years for imprisonment exceeding one year but not exceeding three years. Clarification is sought on whether the limitation is for lodging a complaint or for case disposal, with the former suggested as one year.

if you want to know the limitation period for criminal sections ask your lawyer. Without stating the facts you put this query as an examination paper to this forum members. the limitation period in my view, (a) six months, if the offence is punishable with a fine only. (b) one year, if the offence is punishable with imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year; (c) three years, if the offence is punishable with imprisonment for a term exceeding one year but not exceeding three years.

Are you seeking clarification about limitation to lodge a criminal complaint or for the disposal of the criminal case.
