Limit of Caveat

(Querist) 01 October 2010 This query is : Resolved
We have registered a Caveat on 16 th of June.
Is there any limit /life of caveat ?
If yes, how many days ?
How to renew the Caveat ?
Which chapter of Manual of high courts mentions the limit of the caveat ?

Thanks !!

90 days from numbering the caveat. you need to renew on the 91st day by filing separate caveat

Ninety days. There is nothing known as renewal. After the expiry ,you have to file a fresh caveat only.

Why you bother to file coveat , now a days no court will pass any order without notice unless real urgency is made out.

And if it is real urgent coveat will not help since court will pass order irrespective of your objections.

a Caveat is valid for 90 days from the date of its registration under Section 148-A of the C.P.C. However, a caveator can file another caveat after expiry of said 90 days on same cause of action.
