An advocate is expected to be expert in all subjects i.e. Medical, legal, social, economy, politics, religion etc. If you are not all rounder you can not be a good adviser or lawyer

DEPENDS ON JOB REQUIREMENT. JOB IS TO DEAL WITH TAXATION AND YOU ARE EXPERT OF FAMILY LAW.FOR COMPANIES YOU SHOULD BE EXPET IN CORPORATE LAWS AND OTHER GENERAL LAWS ALSO.

It depends in which field you want to be a Legal Adviser. Generally you have to learn every part of law. Now-a-days in a corporate sector you must have knowledge of corporate law, Company law, Industrial & Labour law all other civil laws.
