You consult the local V.O. and Tahsildar and ask them on paper whose name is in the revenue records for the joint patta. Your name is in the revenue records you can put the fence.

This, as you mentioned is a common passage where besides you many others have easement rights for ingress and egress purposes.
Therefore you cannot erect a boundary or fencing blocking other users rights to use the passage.
You can get it survey through the revenue department and denarcate your rights but cannot obstruct others usage in any manner.

Thanks sir and all for the response. Btw it's not common passage,it's common passage for our land (divided between my 2 grand fathers). Now this passage is rod to commute our land internal. Now what happened other side of land owner who don't have rights to this passage informed his clients to use the passage , there problem is started. This joint patta ia owned by us and paying regular taxes. Online also it's reflecting our name. But in order to show case to all we thought of putting fense and board. So before do we need to consult VO or how please assist.

Thanks

You say to the VO that the passage is yours divided between your grandfathers ever since in your position. If any grievance arises, you must appraise the matter before the RDO/SDO is concerned. But it takes at least 6 months if the RDO/SDO conducts an inquiry.

VO is not any authority to grant you permission to fence the passage.
If you have clear title over this passage then you can stop others from using it by blocking their access through this passage.
Let them go to court for relief if they are aggrieved which you can challenge properly.
