hi can i file acase under this section against my inlaws even after 6 yrs for recovery of jewellry, and passports ,scooter and other thngs.
i stay seperate after my husbands death and my inlaws have refused since then to give any of the above things .Also there is a property matter pending in the court, which iam not pursuing due to lack of funds and they r not maintaining me
PLEASE GUIDE ME

At first i have to say that such items can not be recovered through criminal proceeding, though you may sue them for 406 IPC.or under DV Act for your other right's.

You can file application under domestic violence act for the recovery of your noted articles and can also get maintenance from your in-laws in case you are not capable to maintain yourself.

If you have no funds to engage any counsel or to bear other connected expenses then do not leave your struggle rather move a simple application to Chief Judicial Magistrate of your area praying to provide you free of cost lawyer as well as all expenses. It shall definitely be provided on the same date out of competent penal advocates. You shall have no to incur even a single penny out of your pocket and this facility is available in all courts.
