Change in speling in name

I want to modify the spelling in my name. Kindly suggest the process to do?. How i will substantiate it as a proof of ID etc. Also, please let me know whether my family will face any problem in future in claiming property rights in future?.

did your birth with your correct name registered at panchayat/ Mupl/mpl corporation authorities by your parents? If your name is registered in Panchayat/ Mupl/mpl corporation, then it is sufficient to prove your correct name. other wise make an affidavit stating your name is misspelt in records as...... and the correct name is ...... and get the affidavit be notrarized.

Thanks, as per records my name is correct, but, Actually I want to add one letter in my name,hence my spelling would change. For that what things i need to do. Is an affidavit of enough or need to do some more.
