Recording conversion legality

Respected Experts,

Whether recording conversation in person with government officials at government premises by a citizen of India is permissible or do they have any infringement of law?

I would be highly thankful if you could guide me.

If it is for any sting operation to unearth the corruption then it is alright. Else the same is not right.

Happy to receive your reply first, with your reply I am satisfied. The issue relates to harassment and a possible chance of demanding bribe. Hence wish to receive any case law in line please..
