"Bar-coded labels are treated at additional declarations. Marking of additional declarations like the name of the retail dealer, sale price of the package being less than or equal to MRP declared
by the manufacturer are not prohibited. However, they cannot be used for upward revision of price."

is this statement valid after cancellation of std and weight measurement act 1977 .

i am carrying the business of books. is this mandatory on packing of books?

So far as your statement, "i am carrying the business of books" is concerned, that seems to quite false, as according to your profile, you are just an assistant, not a publisher, distributor or retailer. So, why try to become smart just to hoodwink the experts.

Moreover, your query is of purely academic type, which does not specify your personal problem.

Further to it, the Legal Metrology act is applicable on manufacturing, marketing, and distributing packaged goods with specified weights and measures. The question arises, in what way you want to link bar coding of books with the Legal Metrology Act.

So, your query is just a fake query from every angle.
