Dear Sir
I am staying in Chennai (Koyembedu) as a paying guest occupying a portion of the apartment. It was a 11 month lease agreement which is expiring on 5th of Oct 2012. I have given a notice of vacation to the house owner 1 month before the agreement expiry.
But the owner is not willing to settle my deposits with 1 month notice as the agreement says that 2 month notice to be given. But my argument was since the agreement itself is getting expired, then where is question of 2 month notice.
I need your valuable inputs on this. Can I challenge the owner and go legal?

you are corect . if agreemet is expiring in october you have informed landlord you dont want to renew agreemet . insist on security depsoit return . if necessary issue legal notice
