i am married in Aug 2006 and since march 2011 i am separated from my husband due to extra Martial affair and mental harassment, i am not willing to continue with him. he is not ready for divorce. trying to isolate me by giving threatening mails and sms to my friends. i cant move out any were alone. have a son of 1 year. pl guide what can done?. if i file for divorce how much time it will take to finish everything?

Well, if you have no independent source of income then you can apply to the court for maintenance of you and your child.
The quantum of maintenance would be at oer of status of your husband.
At the same time you can apply for divorce as well which may take some time for disposal.

A contested divorce usually takes a lot of time. We are looking for atleast 2 years in the court.
However if you can prove your husband's adultery - you would get divorce.
You can file a criminal complaint against your husband if he is trying to intimidate you.

first file a complaint in the police station for criminal intimidation. also file a suit for divorce in the court on the grounds of cruelity, adultery
