Limitation of time period for appealing

I have 6 months to retirement in BSNL, this case is about Dispute of Community, I have given a writ petition 2 yrs before (7/7/08) in high court for promoting and fixation of pay. Now they are ready to go to appeal, is there any limitation of time period for appealing the above writ petition ordered by high court!

Apex Court have ample powers and its law is binding for all though the law of limitation do not permit BSNL to file their appeal at such belated stage just to harm you at the fag end of your career.

Please abstain from commenting on the merits of the case without knowing the facts (especially when there is a probability in the eventuality of uphelding of the appeal by Apex Court on the appreciation of the facts of the case).
