Can someone please distinguish what is meant by an original side and an Appellate side. What is meant by an Appellate Court.

Court of original jurisdiction is a court where proceedings are initiated for the first time whereas in appellate court, the proceedings or orders of another court lower in hierarchy, are challenged.
