Hi..
This is murthy from Andhra Pradesh.I need your suggestion and procedure to correct my surname and sub-caste in certificates.I did M.Sc.
My actual surname is Juthiga but in my all education certificates (Xth,inter, degree,pg) Juttiga but my brother and sister got correctly.mistakenly registered from 1st standard.
Also my caste is BC-A Vaddi but my certificates wrongly mistakenly registered in 1st standard and continued to pg as Vadabalija which also BC-A and comes under OBC category.but different from me to my family members.Right now I am preparing for bank and govt jobs,so please suggest me to correct those.

Surname could be altered by Gazette notification. For sub caste,it could be done by obtaining certificate from Tahsildar/Revenue authorities

I partially agree with expert advise of Mr. Issac Gabriel.
How can you change your sub-caste, I have my doubt?

Mr.Murty, you are post graduate. One can understand if there is spell mistake in surname, why you kept quiet all these years when your sub-caste is wrong? Caste correction is not that easy. In all certificates the caste will not be mentioned. In marks sheets, caste will not be there, in provisional certificates caste will not be there and the original Degree Certificates caste will not be there. How can you can from 1st standard to PG your subcaste is carried wrong?
For claiming OBC, you require a certificate in a specified format from Revenue Authorities. You can apply afresh now and ask the revenue authorities to make thorough enquiry. Anyway they will conduct the enquiry and then only issue the certificate. As regards a small spelling mistake in surname, if you can, better ignore at this stage or publish a gazette notification.

You may follow the advise and suggestion made by expert Mr. Malipeddi Jagga Rao which seems to be quiet apt.
