A relative of mine wants to start either a Sole Prop. Firm or a Partnership Firm. My request to law professionals is for a very brief outline of the steps reqd to bring into existence:
a) Sole Proprietorship Firm
b) Partnership Firm
I am a commerce student so i wud be able to understand the technical terms. So in depth details not reqd. But i request for the Broad Outline or a series of Steps.
Thanks a lot.

if your owner wants to start any retail, dealer or any distribution of commericial goods then he has to register with VAT ( Sales Tax department).
If partnership firm then partnership deed can be regd., with the registrar of firms of the Dist.,
Partnership deed is to be written down in the stamp paper, it bears signatures of all the partners, it is mandatory to mention income tax clause in the partnership deed.

for proprietorship concern, no need to enter into into any documentation but secure all teh required statutory registration like as Mr. Vadrali said.
for partnership firm, its at your option whether you want to get it registered or not. bt it would be advisable to get it registered. any two or more persons can form a part. firm vide a partnership deed.
