License to store diesel

Dear all,

When is it mandatory to obtain a licence to store diesel for use in DG set and Machinery ?

for small quantities you don't require any license.

However for large quantities you would definately require in pursuant to the local municipal laws.

There is a threshold specified in petroleum act. Do you have any idea of that threshold ?

It is not for personal use and the average daily stock is about 1500 ltrs.
