what are the main requirements in adoption?can a grandmother (nani) adopt her grand daughter?its urgent plz reply in detail,thanku.

There is no bar of grandmother adopting her granddaughter, if she has no surviving daughter.

adoptee should not be more than 15 years old or married unless custom governing them allow. for any other opinion put ur query in detail

Actually a lady(widow) has 2 daughters,who r married and living outside the state.the daughter of one of her daughter is living with her with the consent of her both the daughters.now she wants to legally adopt her is it possible.....kindly suggest thanku..

Since the widow has already two living daughters, she cannot adopt any daughter. This is directly hit by the provisions of Section 11 (ii) of the Hindu Adoptions and Maintenanct Act, 1956.

mistake in reading..answer is she can not adopt..go as advised by mr RR EXPERT
