My Daughter and son-in-law died 5 years b ack my grand son aged about now is 7 years.How can i adopt my grand son and How i maintain his surname in school records and legal? please suggest me for his future. P.Ramanaiah,60yrs,Hyderabad.

if you have death certificate, then file to court for natural guardian in the minor boy, the court may order and give the copy of decree,

You can not adopt your grand son as your son. In the absence of the parents, you grand father can be the natural guardian.

The adoption and changing the surname will lead to great confusion.

will I be only as guardian till he gets major, can i put my son-in-law surname in his school records and official correspondence in future, please suggest that can i approach to court for legal guardian? which is best iam still worried about my grandson future, please advise. P.Ramanaiah, Hyd.

What is the reaction of the parents of your son-in-law? Are they agreeable to the arrangemnt of your being a guardian in preference to them?
