What are diaries of ACP

1) What are the dairies maintained by ACP when handling 498a cases under his zonal area of Police Stations.

2) What are the duties of ACP to reduce the burden of filing 498a cases by his fellow Inspectors of various Police Stations under his Zone.

3) What is the role played by him when 498a cases are more under his jurisdiciton.

1. Diaries of ACP or investigating Officer are such record pertaining to his sequence wise investigation/visit to the place of occurrence or relevant places and further connected happenings etc.

2. There is no such prescription in the police manuals but lodging of FIR and unless otherwise decided by higher police officers, all crimes are investigated at police station level wherein ACP is a superior officer.

3. Such ACP may ensure that free and fair investigation of the case is made and compliance of law is being made by his subordinates.
