Given loan

I have given two checks worth of 6 lakhs to a person as loan. two year back. now he refuses to give back my money. so what should i do now to get back my money.. i have not taken any kind document from him. only proof i have the checks..

send letter to him that 6 lakhs has been given as loan . request him to retrun the same .

if he does not reply nor payment file summary suit
