is provocation act (1957) is applicable in India or not.

I think you are mistaken about the name of the Act, as I feel it is not the Provocation Act, 1957, BUT it is the "Homicide Act 1957." However, there is section 3 of the said Act which discusses about "provocation." The said Act is applicable in England and Wales, NOT in India.
