murder attempt

What evidence need to be shown if some one attempts a murder on me? After how many (max) days , case can be registered?

no limit. but it is beneficial to lodge FIR as soon as possible.

Lode FIR instantly. Cases of this magnitude loose credibility out of delay in lodging the complaint.

I have given some money to my friend and got a post dated cheque as a return. Now the due date is over, but he is not giving back the money. Some 3 months back we had a minor physical fight due to an argumnet on this, and he threates me that he will file a murder attempt case on me if I send a legal notice after the cheque is dishonoroed, so need help in counter attacking the murder attempt theory as there was no such attempt. Please advice.

Basically on what evidence he can show that I attempted a murder and how I can disagree or prove that such attempt was not done...

Section 307 IPC is being misused by most of corrupt persons becouse the defination of this section is very wrong in IPC and thus wrong prosecution of anybody can be done in this section.So be alert.
