adoption leave

Hello.
I am planning to adopt a baby boy between 3 to 8 months of age. I am aware that government employees are entitled to leave for 6 months on this account.
I am working for a private educational institution, are there any laws that give us leave entitement in this respect? please clarify.

Leave for adopted child is not available.Leave, as asked by you, is granted even in Govt. school/office when a lady gives birth to a child from her own woomb.

No such leave is in Govt. Private institutions will have their own leave policy.

Hello Sir,
I completely respect your opinion. However I read in G.O (P) No.55/2010/Fin dated 06/02/2010 that the Government speaks of adoption leave. Is this not a valid one? Please throw some light on this matter..

Hi,

Please read it again, if you a female state government employee you can take the enhanced leave of 180 days instead of 135 days as amended by the said notification.
