Is it necessary for a law firm to be registered with any authority. If yes:
1. which is that authority?
2. Is there any requirement as regards applying for 'availability of name' to such authority?
3. Is registration of a law firm with the Registrar of Firms and Societies a better option than getting the firm registered as a LLP?
4. what is the procedure for registration of a law firm?

1. which is that authority?
- Authority depends on type of firm you want to form / register, company, LLp, partnership etc.
2. Is there any requirement as regards applying for 'availability of name' to such authority?
- depends upon constitution of firm.
3. Is registration of a law firm with the Registrar of Firms and Societies a better option than getting the firm registered as a LLP?
- no is my answer.
4. what is the procedure for registration of a law firm?
- Depends upon the constitution of firm.

Sir
the law firm is proposed to be registered only as a partnership firm. As of now only single partner be there but there is scope for induction of new partners as the firm grows.
Kindly give your considered opinion on the all the above queries keeping the above facts in mind.
