Mistake in passport

Sir, one of my friends spouce expired in year 2006 but in renewal time in year 2008 by mistake / oversight he had not shown, pls advise what he should do now? after that he has not remarried. pls advise. Thanks

Fill (Form no-2 for Miscellaneous Services)carry death certificate of your spouse to the Regional Passport office and pay required fees..
