Action against witness

What action can be taken against witness who gave false statements during trial?
He told on Nov 6,2011 I torcherd the lady at x city even though I was not in the city x and I have proof of that.

This is perjury - however since perjury is considered an offence not against a private person but the court of justice, you have to move an application u/s 340 crpc before the very court - who would after a preliminary enquiry make complaint to the concernedcourt.
